Taylor Swift writes a devastating letter about a fan ‘leaving forever’ due to The Eras Tour’s tight rules

Swift speaks out following a tragedy at her recent Eras Tour event.

The 33-year-old singer wrote on her Instagram Story Friday that the death of a fan before her concert at Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro “shattered” her heart.

Swift, who performed the first of three shows at Estadio Nilton Santos on Friday, said she was too “grief” to discuss the fan’s death.

“I just can’t talk about this onstage because I’m overwhelmed by grief,” she wrote. “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my heart goes out to her family and friends.”

Swift said, “This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil,” ending her touching speech.

Time for Fun, an event organizer, revealed on X, formerly Twitter, that 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides Machado died. In the Portuguese post, they stated Benevides Machado felt sick at the venue and was treated by first responders before being transferred to Salagdo Filho Hospital, where she died.

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it’s with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift said on social media.

“I can’t tell you how upset I am,” she said. “I know little except that she was beautiful and too young.”
