Many inadequacies at the stadium in Brazil have made the health of fans at The Eras Tour worse

A day after a fan died during her first “Eras Tour” gig in Rio de Janeiro, Taylor Swift postponed her Saturday-night concert due to severe heat.

“The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first,” Swift posted Saturday on Instagram.

Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes said on X that Saturday’s performance will be moved to Monday.

A 23-year-old fan died at Swift’s “Eras Tour” event in Rio on Friday night, according to Brazilian organizers.

Swift mourned the deceased.

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift posted on Instagram. She was gorgeous and very young, but I know little else.”

Concert organizer Time4Fun identified the fan as Ana Clara Benevides Machado.

“Last night, Ana Clara felt unwell and was promptly attended to by the team of firefighters and paramedics, being taken to the Nilton Santos Stadium medical center for first aid protocol,” the organizer stated on Instagram. “The medical staff transferred her to Salgado Filho Hospital, where she died after over an hour of emergency care. Our sympathies to Ana Clara Benevides Machado’s family and friends.”

Swift will perform two additional gigs in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday and Sunday, followed by shows in São Paulo starting Nov. 24.
