Due to the excessive heat, Taylor Swift confirmed that her concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Saturday has been postponed.
“I’m writing from the stadium’s dressing room. Due to the high heat in Rio, it has been decided to postpone tonight’s event, Swift announced on her Instagram story on Saturday.
“My fans’ safety and well-being, as well as the safety of my fellow performers and crew, must and will always come first,” she continued. The choice was made the day after a fan passed away in front of her Friday concert in the same city.
Swift posted on her Instagram account at the time, saying, “I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show.” The extent of my devastation at this cannot even be expressed. I don’t know much about her other than the fact that she was quite young and very gorgeous.
Uncertainty surrounds the circumstances of the death.
Swift declared, “I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because when I even try to talk about it, I get overwhelmed by grief.” “Now that I’ve experienced this loss firsthand, I want to express how much my heart hurts for her family and friends. When we chose to take this vacation to Brazil, I never imagined what has happened.
The National Institute of Meteorology in Brazil reports that Swift’s debut performance in Rio de Janeiro, which is now experiencing high temperatures, took place on Friday.
According to her website, Swift will play in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday before moving on to Sao Paulo for three more shows.
