Shaquille O’Neal gives dating advise.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE about his new Pepsi mini can commercial, the former NBA player, 51, advises Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on their growing romance.
The world has seen O’Neal’s romances, including his nine-year marriage to ex-wife Shaunie. Thus, his best advice to the singer and NFL player about their relationship is: “Keep it out of the public eye.”
“They look good together,” he says of Swift, 33, and Kelce, 34. “I wish them nothing but the best, and I hope they’re happy.”
After attending many of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs football games in September, Swift began dating rumors. They announced their relationship in October by holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty.
The athlete attended Swift’s Eras Tour overseas, and a source told PEOPLE that their relationship is “more serious” after their outings.
The source claimed Kelce is “sweet, goofy and just a blast to be around.” They also have a great work ethic, a huge appreciation for life and their careers, and strong family values.
Derek Jeter spoke to PEOPLE last week about how Swift and Kelce’s relationship is blending sports and entertainment.
While saying “sports and music have been intertwined for a long, long time,” the 49-year-old former baseball player remarked, “In that sense, I don’t think it’s anything new.”
“I think anytime you get a new set of eyes, a new demographic that’s paying attention to sports, [it’s great],” he said. ‘Oh, she’s got a new group of supporters now,’ I don’t think.'” They probably liked it anyway. I think it highlights athletics.”
“But looking back, it’s funny. You constantly hear that entertainers want to be athletes, but then athletes want to be entertainers “The former baseball player remarked. “I think those worlds have coincided for quite some time.”
