From jail, Lil Wayne sends us messages via WeezyThanxYou. The jailed rapper wrote “A Mother’s Worth” letter for Mother’s Day over the weekend. Weezy’s second prison letter follows:
Few words are as strong as “mother.” Those six letters can bring joy and anguish. I suppose it can thrill or enrage depending on the context. It means more to me than I can express, but I will. I think of boundless power, patience, and knowledge.
As you may have guessed, this letter honors all positive mothers on Mother’s Day. I think that day is every day, yet I realize the holiday’s significance. The most beautiful thing God created is mother-child love. More than money, fаme, automobiles. You know why? Because only true love lasts from birth to deаth. All mothers who read this letter, I pray this day brings you the love and respect you deserve. You’re the role models.
The mothers of my beautiful children have my undying love, affection, and respect. Even with my mistakes, you make me grin at a place where they try to break your soul every morning. I adore my kids. I’m even more motivated to write since you gave them life. Happy Mother’s Day.
Finally, my mother, Ms. Cita. You are my heart and soul. Never forget that. We’ve experienced everything together. You’ve handled every challenge with grace and dignity I can only emulate. Even writing this, it’s hard to accept that I can’t celebrate this important day with you. As you always said, a man must accept and learn from his acts, good and bad. I’m doing that. Love you more than you know, mom. Probably more than I adore myself. Enjoy Mother’s Day—you deserve it. Comfort yourself knowing your son loves and misses you desperately.
I cannot thank everyone enough for their support. My spirits are sky-high owing to you. Knowing others care about you and want you to succeed speeds up the day. I hope letters, especially abroad ones, continue to arrive at this rate. They remind me that life goes on, even when I forget. Please limit letters to one page. Please keep providing photos. Some of your sketches and paintings are amazing.
I’ll conclude the letter here, but Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers who have raised their children well. Take care. Be blessed. Be alive. Share love.
