Swift usually opposes the spotlight surrounding her sexual relationships, but she has a different view of Travis Kelce.
On Wednesday, Swift, 33, was named Time’s 2023 Person of the Year and revealed her romance with Kelce, 34, which has made headlines since she first cheered on her lover at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” the singer remarked of her high-profile travels to Arrowhead Stadium and other locations to see Kelce play.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone,” said. We’re proud of each other.”
Swift, who has attended five Chiefs games in the last three months, also discussed what it’s like having so many cameras on her in the crowd.
“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she said of the family suites she sits in with Kelce’s mother, Donna, or Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany.
“There’s a camera a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is or when it’s putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” Swift said.
The 12-time Grammy winner said she had no idea how often she appears on TV at Kelce’s games. Her only concern is her boyfriend.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” Swift remarked. “I have no idea if I’m being shown too much and offending some dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Football is “awesome, it turns out,” she said. Missing out my whole life.”
Swift’s comments on her relationship came two weeks after Kelce did so on WSJ’s December/January cover.
He guarded certain secrets, but the NFL player said he needed help getting Swift’s attention.
“She had people who knew me in her corner who said, ‘Yo! Were you aware of his arrival? I had Cupid “Kelce discovered this after Swift contacted him.
“She explained what was happening and how I got her to reach out,” he claimed of their romance.
The Chiefs tight end called the pop diva “hilarious” and “a genius,” saying their shared views on family and work make them compatible
“Everybody knows I’m a family guy,” Kelce said. “Her family is her team. Her family does a lot of tour, marketing, and being around, so I think she shares those ideals, which I like.
