“Everybody” by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign supposedly took the Backstreet Boys by surprise.

On Tuesday, December 12, sources close to the pop group’s management informed TMZ that Ye and Ty had not cleared the interpolation of their 1997 classic “Everybody” for Ye and Ty’s new song “Everybody.” The words from the song “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” which feature throughout Kanye and Ty’s rendition, were not permitted to be used by Brian, Nick, Kevin, Howie, A.J., or their crew. The introduction to their collaborative album Vultures sparked a lot of excitement among fans the instant a preview of the song leaked on social media over the weekend.

During a big listening session in Miami on Monday night into Tuesday morning, the pair finally unveiled the entire version of the song. It features lyrics from Ty Dolla $ign and Charlie Wilson’s original Backstreet Boys าบit. Along with Lil Baby, who performs twice on the album, Kanye drops a verse over the famed bassline from the BSB single. Freddie Gibbs, Kodak Black, Bad Bunny, Lil Durk, Playboi Carti, and others all contributed to the album.

Ye and Ty don’t seem to have BSB’s approval for the song, but it won’t stop them from placing it on the album. Because the song is made up of interpolations rather than audio samples, the pair will almost certainly retain “Everybody” on the album when it is released this Friday.
