Tyga has collaborated with all the rappers he mentioned, with the exception of Eminem. But he hasn’t been afraid to express his admiration for Em in the past; last year, he honored Eminem’s group in D12’s “My Band” video with his “Ay Caramba” video. After receiving criticism for cultural appropriation for the track’s video, he apologized to the Mexican-American community and took the video down from YouTube.
Just over a month after controversy over Billboard’s ranking of the Greatest Rappers of All Time, he tweeted that Wayne and Em were the two greatest rappers of all time. Wayne was seventh on the list, but Eminem, much to Melle Mel’s dismay, peaked at number five, implying that his rise was solely due to his race. Mel remarked, “Obviously, he’s a capable rapper.” Would Eminem rank in the top five on that list if he were just another n***a like the rest of us, considering that the next best n***a is 35 years old?
