Nicki Minaj has prevented the release of New Body, a collaboration song with Kanye West, forcing the release of West’s new album Vultures to be delayed.
On Friday, West was set to release Vultures, a full-length collaboration with singer Ty Dolla $ign. However, soon after the anticipated release, he tweeted to Minaj, “May I call you about clearing new body on the new album?”
“Regarding Kanye: that train has left the station, OK?” Minaj said during an Instagram livestream. There is no disrespect intended. I just released a whole new record. Why would I release music that has been available for three years? Guys, come on.”
New Body, an homage to cosmetic surgery, really dates back to 2018, when it was set to appear on West’s canceled album Yandhi. It was later re-recorded for the 2019 gospel album Jesus Is King, purportedly with a more spiritual bent and a fresh Minaj verse, but that version was never published as well. “I did write three different verses chile, and I don’t know,” Minaj said in 2019. We’re not on the same page.” The song was also rumored to be included on the 2021 album Donda. Minaj later referred to the song as “the Һit that got away.”
West has made several anti-Semitic remarks after the publication of Donda, which have been heavily denounced. Joe BiԀen issued a statement shortly after West lauded Adolf Һitler and the Nаzi party, saying, “The Holocaust occurred. Һitler was a demonic being. Instead of giving it a voice, our political leaders should condemn antisemitism wherever it appears. Silence constitutes complicity.”
Following West’s statements, several corporations severed connections with him, including Adidas, whose joint Yeezy sneakers had been a great Һit for the sportswear company.
West has recently released Yzy Pod, “our first product since liberation from Adidas,” a sock-like footwear design priced at $200 or £159. The shoe has been dubbed “the foldable future of footwear.”
Earlier this week, West announced the appointment of Gosha Rubchinskiy, a Russian designer, as the new director of design for his Yeezy firm.
Rubchinskiy’s streetwear label, which has been an extension of Comme des Garçons since 2012, has resulted in partnerships with Adidas and Burberry. However, in 2018, a 16-year-old kid accused him of forcing him to give pоrnоgraphic images, which Rubchinsky rejected. “Gosha has been doing casting by Instagram for many years now,” a business spokeswoman said of Rubchinskiy’s request for casting photos. It’s common practice today.”
Rubchinskiy stated this week that he had left Comme des Garçons and is now working as “an independent creative powerhouse” while leading Yeezy.
Vultures is rumored to have collaborations with singers Chris Brown, Kodak Black, Young TҺug, and others, as well as producer Timbaland.
Minaj’s latest album Pink Friday 2 was published last week and is projected to debut in the UK Top 3 this week. The Guardian’s Alexis Petridis noted in a four-star review, “You’re never far away from a furious dismissal of Minaj’s rivals, a witty highlighting of her abilities, or indeed a glowing endorsement of her vаginа.”
