Kanye West continues to call out Nicki Minaj for refusing to delete ‘New Body’
The highly anticipated collaboration between Ye aka Kanye West and Nicki Minaj for West and Ty Dolla $ign’s next album, Vultures, has fallen through.
According to reports, the album’s delay was caused by Minaj’s refusal to approve her verse in the song “New Body.”
In a recent viral video, West can be heard expressing his displeasure over Minaj’s unwillingness to provide permission for her verse. This has produced a schism among supporters, sparking intense arguments online over who is to blame in this circumstance.
“I made that girl rewrite her verse three times for ‘Monster’. I supported her career. So I don’t know what it is. But we going to get this or we just ain’t going to push it,” Kanye is seen saying in the viral video.
Various musicians, including Freddie Gibbs, Playboi Carti, Future, and James Blake, contributed to the extended-play Vultures album.
Earlier this week, Minaj seemed to reject her lyric, saying, “Child, that train has left the station, OK?” No offense intended; I recently released a completely new record.”
Minaj responded when West revealed a copy of a text conversation he sent to her requesting clearance for the song. “Hi, it’s ye,” the text said. May I contact you about clearing out a fresh body for the album?”
In а 2022 interview, Minаj sаid оf the sоng, “‘New Bоdy’ is the biggest Һit recоrd thаt never cаme оut.” Kаnye requested thаt I cоmpоse my ‘New Bоdy’ stаnzа fоur times sо thаt he cоuld integrаte it intо аny creаtive оr spirituаl scenаriо in his life. Then, а few mоnths lаter, I gо оn the internet аnd see him оn Drink Chаmps.”
Vultures is Ye’s first studio album since his anti-Semitic rants in 2022 halted his music and fashion careers.
On Friday, Ty Dolla $ign shared the tracklist for Vultures, which contained the pair’s recent “Vultures” track as well as “Beg Forgiveness,” “Timbo Freestyle,” “Worship,” and “New Body.”
