An Instagram account is reactivated by Kanye West eight months after he left the platform

Following an eight-month absence, Kanye West has reinstated his Instagram presence.

On December 17, the rapper reinstated his Instagram account during the wee hours of Sunday. As of this writing, Ye has not published anything and is only following one individual, Justin Laboy, in contrast to the nearly 19 million followers that Ye has in total.

Kanye West may have reactivated his account on the photo-sharing platform to promote his forthcoming collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign, according to rumors.

Ye decided to discontinue one of his social media accounts in April, deactivating Instagram without providing a detailed explanation.

On April 18, he published an Instagram photo that displayed the cancellation form for a platform account. It appeared that Yeezy could have deactivated his account temporarily with a single click.

Moments later, he executed his departure, as evidenced by the damaged link to Kanye’s Instagram.

In October 2018 and September 2020, respectively, he deactivated his Instagram account in response to the backlash against his Saturday Night Live performance and support for Dоnald Trump, which was symbolized by the controversial rapper adorning a red MAGA cap.

In October 2022, Kanye received an Instagram suspension in response to his antisemitic comments. Subsequently, in December 2022, Elon Musk, a close friend of Kanye’s, suspended him from Twitter for sharing an image that featured a Swastika.

According to The Daily Beast, the Chicago-born rapper appeared to be content to spend time with his wife, Bianca Censori, and lie low at the time, having reportedly abandoned plans for a 2024 presidential bid.

“West campaign staffers such as Fuentes, Jan. 6 rally organizer Ali Alexander, and British provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos have fractured,” the outlet wrote, “after once working together to elect West or, at the very least, get him more attention through media appearances on fringe outlets like InfoWars.”

Reportedly, this infighting has dissuaded the DONDA rapper from advancing the campaign, and both documentary filmmakers and advisors are adamantly opposed to the concept. West is also content with this development.

“At this time, I am merely focusing on my children, my new wife, and the school I attend, The Donda Academy; that is all.” West said to Adam Camacho, the documentary filmmaker who was contracted to record the presidential campaign. “All I desire is to be left alone.”
