It made Hailie Jade Scott, Eminem’s daughter, ‘so freaking happy’ to see her dad perform with 50 Cent
In the clip, Eminem is heard praising his fellow hip-hop legend in front of the crowd by saying into the mic, “Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known: 50 Cent! Make some noise for hip-hop’s 50th birthday, y’all — it’s still hip-hop’s 50th birthday. Detroit, I love y’all!”
While 50 Cent will begin the next leg of his tour on Thursday with a performance in the Netherlands, he has also been busy working on making the 2002 film 8 Mile into a television show.
The “Candy Shop” rapper shared earlier this year during an appearance on the BigBoyTV YouTube channel that a series based on the semi-autographical film is “in motion” and revealed that Eminem is on board to assist with the production. In a recent interview with Me𝚗’s Health, he provided an update on the series by stating that it will be “just as big as the feature film.”
“It’ll be huge,” he said. “The interest in it is because the time period of 8 Mile was capturing per the bat, so as we move it into modern times you’ll see things about how we function now, how technology changed the way people enter the music business.”
