Hannah Ann Sluss, engaged to NFL player Jake Funk, knows when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may propose.
“Well, usually, engagements, from what Jake’s told me, happen in the offseason,” she explains on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast from experience.
Announcing her engagement to Funk, 25, in January, the model and influencer, 27, says, “Because last season I was like, ‘I want to get engaged.’ ‘Well, normally guys get engaged in the offseason.’”
Sluss says Funk informed her being engaged during football season—which may extend from September to February for some players—is “not the best look.”
After being a finalist on Peter Weber’s season of “Bachelor,” the 2020 alum says she and Funk look forward to the summer, when they can celebrate their fellow football couples’ triumphs.
We have fun because our offseason friends ask, “Who’s engaged?” Who’s marrying?’” she says. You must plan around football throughout football season.
Although Sluss and Funk, a running back who recently signed with the Baltimore Ravens after stints with the Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, and others, don’t know Swift and Kelce, 34, they support their relationship.
“When I saw it, I thought, ‘This can’t be real. “This is just the perfect storm,” adds Sluss, a Swiftie who was “so excited” about the “Shake It Off” singer’s surprise romance.
“When I saw the iconic photo of her in the stadium box, I knew it was confirmed.’”
The Grammy winner and Chiefs tight end began dating in September. The couple has traveled the world together, and a source tells Page Six they will spend the holidays in Kansas City, Mo.
Sluss calls “Traylor” the “biggest thing we’ve seen” in sports and pop culture.
“Seeing two diehard fanbases — the Chiefs or NFL fans in general — and Taylor Swift’s Swifties collide is amazing,” she says.
Still, Swift wearing a Chiefs jersey to her man’s games can irritate opposing supporters. On Sunday, New England Patriots supporters booed the Eras Tour performer at Kelce’s game at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.
“There might have been a few Brads and Chads that were booing,” the athlete told brother Jason Kelce on Wednesday’s “New Heights” podcast.
“But for the most part, everyone was f–king screaming for her.”
When tensions mount, Sluss advises Swift to draw on her new friendships with WAGs like Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“I enjoy seeing her with other Chiefs girls because… When you’re a superstar, it’s hard to have real relationships, Sluss says, adding that she relies on her NFL spouses and girlfriends to fight back against hostility.
“I would just say really take the time to get to know everyone or get to know your core group of friends,” she says, “because that’s what really makes the experience even extra special — is when you have that extra support throughout the season.”
While fans await Swift and Travis’ engagement, Sluss is planning her 2024 wedding. She and Funk plan a “simple” wedding at a “secret location” in Europe.
“I’m super excited about it,” she says. “I’m removing him!”
