JEEZY REVEALS KANYE WEST’S “CAN’T TELL ME NOTHING” WAS ORIGINALLY HIS RECORD

Jeezy recently visited the Los Angeles offices of HipHopDX to discuss his most recent studio album, TM104: The Legend of the Snowman.

He disclosed that the popular song “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” by Kanye West was initially conceived for his album The Recession during the conversation.

Jeezy explains, “‘Wait Until I Get My Money Right’ was a collaboration with T.I. for my album The Recession.” “I forwarded it to Ye, who added a verse but inquired as to the identity of the record’s producer.”

“As soon as he returned it, I was like, ‘Man, that’s an entirely different song,'” he explains. “In two days, I must also return my album to the record label.”

Notwithstanding the praise bestowed upon the track, Jeezy ultimately opted to omit it from the album.

“Six months later, I find myself in Los Angeles when [Kanye] summons me to the studio,” Jeezy explains. “He performed ‘Wait ‘Til I Get My Money Right’ because he desired to play me something—” “He sent me the same song and verse; he merely appended an additional verse.”

Additionally, it received a Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Song category but ultimately lost to “Good Life” featuring T-Pаin, another track produced by DJ Toomp and appearing on The Graduation.
