Just days have passed since Kanye West appointed Gosha Rubchinskiy as the chief designer of Yeezy; he has since introduced new footwear.
Last night, West announced on X that pre-orders for the Yzy Pods are now being accepted for $200. Additionally, this marks West’s initial footwear release after the termination of his partnership with Adidas in October 2022, which was precipitated by a succession of antisemitic remarks he expressed in interviews and on social media.
A complete one-piece construction extends to the calf on the Yzy Pods. The initial colorway features a uniform black composition, and the footwear is offered in three different measurement options. Notably, although the Yzy Pods are presently available for pre-order, the sneaker’s anticipated delivery date is not specified.
Despite the conclusion of Adidas’ collaboration with Kanye West a year ago, the Three Stripes initiated the distribution of the remaining Yeezy sneaker stock in May, followed by another accumulation in late October. A portion of the proceeds from the Yeezy relaunch were donated to organizations including the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change, the Anti-Defamation League, and Robert Kraft’s Foundation to Combat Antisemitism. The relaunch generated $437 million in revenue.
UPDATE (12/28): After being made pre-orderable earlier this month, Kanye West’s Yzy Pods sneaker is now available exclusively at Yeezy.com for $200 as of today. Alongside merchandise, the sneaker debuted concurrently with the release of Ty Dolla Sign and Kanye West’s collaborative album, Vultures.
