Sources tell Page Six that Taylor Swift will attend the Golden Globes Sunday without her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who is in Los Angeles.
Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs will play the LA Chargers at SoFi Stadium on CBS before the Globes on Sunday.
According to insiders, he will be prepping for the NFL playoffs rather than walking the red carpet. Kelce will travel back to Kansas City with his squad after the game, so no fancy after-parties for him.
Swift is nominated for her first Globe in the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category for “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.”
The 34-year-old singer has been nominated for the Globes’ Best Original Song four times, most recently last year for “Carolina” for “Where the Crawdads Sing” but has never won.
As it approaches the title of most successful concert film, her “Eras” has grossed over $250 million, surpassing its $15 million budget.
The film needs $11 million to beat Michael Jackson’s 2009 blockbuster “This Is It.”
Swift skipped the 2023 Globes, but after months of actor and writer strikes have halted Hollywood, the stars will attend this Sunday.
Last at the Globes in 2020, she was nominated for “Beautiful Ghosts” from the film adaptation of “Cats.” She and then-boyfriend Joe Alwyn were reunited inside the event, but not on the red carpet.
This year, the newly-minted billionaire faces mega-hits “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “John Wick: Chapter 4,” “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part 1,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”.
The Globes moved to CBS after NBC withdrew the show in 2021 when it was found that none of the then-87 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which votes for the Globes, were black. The organization has undergone many modifications.
After indicating that some players, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, will sit out, Chiefs coach Andy Reid has not confirmed that Kelce will play on Sunday.
