American pop sensation Taylor Swift’s life and artistic career will be the subject of a new course being offered by De La Salle University Dasmariñas (DLSU-D).
The course, which is available as an option through the DLSU-D Senior High School Department, will delve into Taylor Swift’s captivating universe and examine her musical genius, which has won hearts all over the world.
The institution claims that the elective “Speak Now: Swifties Unleased” will provide students with a “backstage pass” to the “magic behind melodies.”
On January 17, students who want to enroll online can select the course as one of their electives for the second semester.
However, the Taylor course is only the beginning. Other elective subjects that DLSU-D students can choose from include cats, biking, K-pop and K-Drama, and the Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob Squarepants.
The university has previously provided electives on a variety of topics, including manga, Harry Potter, and Star Wars.
The University of the Philippines (UP) already said that as part of its BA Broadcast Media Arts and Studies program, it will provide an elective course on Taylor. Dr. Cherish Aileen Brillon, a certified Swiftie herself, from the College of Mass Communication will be teaching it in the second semester.
Numerous academic institutions, including Stanford University, New York University, and Harvard University, have given courses on the pop star.
Taylor is now touring the globe as part of her “The Eras Tour” show. Support for her 2022 album “Midnights” is being given.
The “Anti-Hero” singer is scheduled to tour Asia in 2024.
