NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre: Taylor Swift will be blamed if Chiefs lose in the playoffs

After defeating the Miami Dolphins in cold weather to advance to the Divisional Round next week, Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre is high on the Kansas City Chiefs.

He knows Taylor Swift will be blamed if the Chiefs lose in the playoffs.

Swift was seen at games all season with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, which made national news.

Saturday night, Swift wore a bespoke No. 87 jacket for Kelce fashioned by Kyle Juszczyk’s wife, Kristin, for her and Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, to survive the Midwest’s below-zero weather. Several Legendary NFL Figures Are Speaking Out Against Taylor Swift - The Spun: What's Trending In The Sports World Today

In their first playoff game, the Chiefs defeated the Dolphins 26-7, with Kelce catching seven receptions on 10 targets for 71 yards, his most productive game in four weeks.

However, Kansas City will face difficult competition, and Favre thinks Swift’s presence will upset people if the Chiefs lose.

“I think it’ll be a distraction if they don’t make the Super Bowl,” Favre told TMZ Sports. “One of those things. I can’t say, but if they don’t win or make the Super Bowl, people will say, “That’s why.” So we’ll see.”

Many feared Kelce’s relationship would hurt his season. He caught 93 passes for 984 yards and five scores in 15 games. It broke the streak of at least 1,000 yards in the last seven seasons, but he missed the season opener against the Detroit Lions.

Kelce has struggled on the stat sheet in recent games, averaging 16, 44, and 28 yards, respectively, less than his average game output. Uncharacteristic drops have also plagued him this year.

He’ll be the first to say it’s unacceptable to throw a good Mahomes pass for 0 yardage. In the media chaos, Kelce has been highly accountable, something he prides himself on on and off the field.

After an eventful season, the Chiefs won the AFC West, and Favre believes they should be a Super Bowl contender until they’re gone.

“Until [Chiefs head coach] Andy Reid is unseated as the champion, I have to see it to believe it,” Favre said.

“Until someone proves me otherwise, I think they’ll go all the way.”

Favre said the Baltimore Ravens, the AFC’s top seed, might beat the Chiefs due to quarterback Lamar Jackson’s recent success. Despite never playing the Chiefs, the Ravens defeated the 49ers, Dolphins, and other strong contenders to start their postseason bye.

To advance, the Buffalo Bills must play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card round. Josh Allen would face the Chiefs in the playoffs again if they win, hoping to beat Mahomes.

Chiefs players like Mahomes, Kelce, and others know that the game will be decided on the field.

Even if they’re in a stadium suite, some spectators may be the blame.
