North West, the artistic progeny of Kanye West, has demonstrated her acumen by creating a remarkable new sketch of her father.
Ty Dolla $ign uploaded a photo carousel to Instagram on Tuesday (January 23) that displayed the three covers of his forthcoming collaborative album with Ye, Vultures.
North, age 10, contributed a hand-drawn portrait of the pair to the assortment of photographs. Kanye was depicted in the caricature donning a Vultures t-shirt and a “$” tattoo on his right bicep, whereas Ty Dolla was illustrated with identical ink adorning his cheek.
The R&B singer composed the caption, “Last slide by Ms Ms Westy!” in reference to the verse featuring Ye’s daughter that is avidly anticipated on their album.
The illustration provides additional evidence that artistic prowess was present within the West family, as Kanye West himself demonstrated such ability when he was younger.
The Yeezy billionaire was awarded a scholarship to the American Academy of Art in Chicago when he was a teenager, where he honed his skills as a student of the fine arts. (He ultimately dropped out of Chicago State University, where he had transferred to pursue English.)
Some of Kanye West’s earliest drawings were featured in an episode of PBS’s Antiques Roadshow in 2020, after the rapper’s cousin acquired the collection after his mother Donda West passed away.
Laura Woolley, an appraiser, estimated the value of the assemblage of paintings and drawings to be between $16,000 and $32,000, remarking, “I believe these pieces exhibit an extraordinary aptitude as an artist.”
North West’s artistic aspirations are still uncertain; however, she recently declared her intention to follow in the musical footsteps of her father.
When asked in November for an interview with i-D magazine what she hopes to accomplish in her lifetime, North responded as follows: “A basketball player, a lyricist, uh… Well, I desired to be a combatant when I was seven years old. However, I no longer desire to be a combatant.
“As an extracurricular activity, I intend to engage in artistic pursuits.” “By walking dogs when I’m thirteen, I hope to earn enough money to purchаse art supplies, since everything around here is so expensive.”
Additionally, North displayed her entrepreneurial spirit by expressing her aspiration to eventually assume control of the business empires owned by her parents, Yeezy and SKIMS.
“Therefore, I will be a basketball player, a rapper, and I will also be selling my artwork,” she continued. Additionally, my aspiration is to become a business owner and eventually acquire Yeezy and SKIMS.
