Vultures, the highly anticipated collaborative effort between Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, will be released in three volumes.
The first edition of the highly anticipated album, which has undergone numerous date alterations and setbacks, is scheduled for February 9, according to Variety.
The second volume is scheduled for release on March 8, and the third installment will be available on April 5. The dates were subject to change at any moment, given West’s track record of project delays and last-minute modifications.
Tuesday (January 23), West and Dolla $ign uploaded to social media a trailer for Vultures. The video, which was directed by Jon Rafman, features a jester seated in a vehicle, wolves roaring at the Moon, a smoldering house, a tongue protruding from an unbuttoned face mask, and additional unsettling images.
Complex reports that the album covers for all three volumes are artwork inspired by Burzum, and the font is rumored to have ties to neo-Nаzi and criminal Varg Vikerne. The album cover photograph was altered from an original creation by Caspar David Friedric, whose work was appropriated by the Nazis nearly a century. Friedric was a significant influence on West.
In October, the Chicago producer reportedly shared some of Ty Dolla $ign’s most recent music during a listening session in Italy, sparking initial rumors of a collaboration between the two artists. The project was expected to be released later that month, coinciding with a concert at an unspecified venue.During a December listening session in Miami, West previewed a draft copy of the album, which features contributions from Kodak Black, Playboi Carti, Chris Brown, and Freddie Gibbs. Nicki Minaj appears as a guest on the final version of “New Body,” but she has since stated that she will not sanction the official release of her verse on the song.
