Is she, like a clockwork, setting the foundation?
On Sunday, Taylor Swift made her much-awaited arrival on the red carpet of the 2024 Grammy Awards. She wore a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown along with multiple necklaces by Lorraine Schwartz, one of which was an eye-catching choker formed of timepieces.
A brand spokesman claims that the choker is actually a custom-made old watch that has been embellished with 300 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds.
The watch hands appear to be fixed on midnight, even though the ostensibly everlasting accessory was turned to the right.
The look might be a reference to her “Midnights” album, for which the celebrity received six nominations tonight, including record of the year, song of the year, album of the year, and best pop vocal album.
Several fans also theorized the time — coupled with the star’s crimson lipstick and black-and-white aesthetic — could foreshadow a “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” announcement.
“Taylor’s necklace is a clock POINTING TO MIDNIGHT … REPUTATION TV ERA INCOMING?” one Twitter user wrote, while another speculated, “Is this another Easter egg?”
In recent months the star’s been peppering her outfits with elements of the aesthetic that defined her “Reputation” release era — from her slinky, scale-like Golden Globes gown to the snake-covered boots she stepped out in last month.
