Police investigate allegations that Taylor Swift’s father beаt a paparazzi photographer after the Sydney Eras concert
Police in New South Wales are looking into claims that, only hours after the sold-out Eras Tour concluded in Australia, Taylor Swift’s father physically attacked a paparazzi photographer in Sydney.
According to reports to NSW police, on Tuesday at around 2.30 am, photographer Ben McDonald, 51, was reportedly assaulted by Scott Swift, 71, near the Neutral Bay dock.
After Taylor Swift’s last Australian gig, McDonald told Guardian Australia, she and her entourage were spending the late hours of the night cruising the harbor aboard a superyacht.
After disembarking from the ferry, McDonald claims that guards shoved umbrellas in his face and camera as he walked along the wharf.
McDonald claims that after getting into the car, a man Һit him in the face, got into the automobile, and drove off.
McDonald remarked, “At the time, I was unaware that it was her dad.” “It was a little shоcking, but I’ll let the police handle this.”
McDonald claimed to have recognized the individual as Scott Swift using photos he had taken.
Officers at the North Shore police area command began investigating the complaint after he made it to them. McDonald did not need medical attention, according to the police.
There are no charges pending.
While refusing to comment directly on the accusations made against Swift’s father, a representative for the singer stated that two unidentified people were “aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”
On Monday night in Sydney, Taylor Swift concluded her Australian leg of her Eras Tour.
On February 16, she played to the largest crowd she had ever seen at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. She went on to perform twice more in Melbourne and wowed fans at four more gigs in Sydney’s Accor Stadium.
Over the past two weekends, she has performed for an estimated 600,000 people in Australia.
