After Hood$tars broke up in 2005, Minaj attempted to pursue a solo career. She put out the mixtapes Beam Me Up Scotty (which was re-released in 2021), Sucka Free, and Playtime Is Over in the late 2000s.

With the release of her 2010 debut album Pink Friday and her 2012 follow-up Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Minaj has successfully made the transition into the mainstream. However, when she put out more pop-oriented music, some began to doubt her validity as a rapper since it appeared that she had abandoned her rapper identity in favor of becoming a pop star.
Since then, Minaj has often demonstrated that her rapping prowess hasn’t diminished. Both rappers give it their all when they collaborate with Wayne on a song. They have collaborated on songs including “High School,” “Good Form,” “Truffle Butter,” “No Frauds,” and “Seeing Green” over the years.
Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj’s current relationship
Since her 2018 album Queen, Minaj, who is married and has a child, has only put out dribbles of music. She still has a good bond with Wayne, though.
Wayne himself was the “special guest” that Minaj shocked her fans with on a much-awaited Instagram Live in July 2021. They still love one other just as much as they always did and treat each other like siblings.
