North West Announces She’s Working on Her Debut Album — and Its Title Pays Homage to Dad Kanye West

North West, the ten-year-old daughter of Kanye West, has declared her intention to release her debut album.

The daughter of Kanye West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian revealed the news at a listening party for her father’s forthcoming album Vultures 2 in Arizona over the weekend (10 March).

“I’ve been putting the finishing touches on an album,” North announced to the audience while standing beside her father. “It is referred to as elementary school dropout.”

The crowd went wild as the famous youngsters graced the stageThe rapper’s self-deprecating debut album, The College Dropout, which was published in 2004, is referenced in the album’s title.

In an article published around the album’s 20th anniversary, The Independent’s Nadine Smith described the record as “immediately iconic” and “sonically fresh,” while acknowledging the series of controversies West has been embroiled in recently.

The 46-year-old lyricist of “All Falls Down” appeared on the program of right-wing cоnspiracy theorist Alex Jones in December 2022. During the appearance, he expressed admiration for Һitler and urged individuals to “cease dissing the Nazis.”

One year later, he published a Hebrew apologetic to the Jewish community.

Then, he released Vultures 1, his most recent collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign, last month. Using rap, he addressed his objectionable views on the album’s title track, “Vultures”: “How am I antisemitic? “I am merely Jewish.”

On stage at the album’s December release celebration, Kanye West was observed donning a hood inspired by the ƙƙƙ.

The crowd erupted into roaring cheers as she said: 'Hi, it's Northie, and I've been working on an album. And it's called Elementary School Drop OutKanye West released the music video for his two-part track “TALKING / ONCE AGAIN,” which featured North rapping, prior to the album’s release.

North is seen grooming her hair and beaming with her father in the video, which was posted to the troubled artist’s Instagram and Twitter/X. She is also heard rapping the first verse, which reads, “It’s your best friend, miss Westie Westie; don’t try to test me; it’s going to get messy; it’s going to get messy; just, just bless me.”

“Vultures is anything but great,” music editor Roisin O’Connor of The Independent wrote in the album’s review. “However, it is not as disastrоus as Donda, West’s 2021 album that vacillated between trap and drill, gospel and boom-bap, and grappled with his (ultimately theatrical) new religious mission statement.”

The name of the album is a nod to her famous father's Grammy-winning debut album The College Dropout“It is also not worse than Jesus is King, released in 2019, which was an attempt to compile his views on faith in a coherent and meaningful manner. “At least Vultures has a few decent hooks, including the summery “Bur𝚗,” in which he laments being “cashed a check” by those who “cashed a check” off his nаme, and “Do It,” which samples the synth-strings from “Back That аzz Up” by Juvenile.”

She further stated, “At this time, West appears to be less motivated to exert effort, seemingly believing that hurried, chaotic antics and cheap shots at his adversaries will garner him the attention he seeks considerably more quickly… Without a doubt, Vultures does not possess the type of financially successful, worldwide phenomenon that could entice the music industry to accept him back into its fold.

North is the eldest of four children born to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Saint and Psalm are also eight years old; Chicago is six, and the prior couple is four.
