According to Kanye West’s staff, his Los Angeles warehouse has been the target of thefts totaling over $1 million (£785,000) in apparel.
The 46-year-old rapper’s crew reportedly discovered a few days ago that a significant quantity of Yeezy apparel had vanished from Ye’s warehouse. The Yeezy crew conducted some online research and came across a Kanye fan account promoting a clothing sale where buyers could get Yeezy GAP clothing, which is typically valued at over $100 (£78), for $20 (£15).
Even while Kanye’s crew seems to have found the stolen goods—roughly 60,000 pieces of apparel valued at an astounding $1.2 million (£943,000)—the celebrity may not be able to get them back since the people organizing the clothing sale claim that they were able to lawfully get the Yeezy merchandise.
Ye’s chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, clarified to TMZ that the apparel being sold by the fan account was unquestionably stolen. He said that the Yeezy crew had no documentation of the transaction, would never let someone to buy that many clothes at once, and promised that the group would go to all lengths to retrieve the pilfered items.
On the other hand, sources close to the US celebrity news site said that law enforcement had sent police to the cheap Yeezy sale. It seems that some, but not all, of the apparel in issue had receipts in the possession of the event organizers.
Even though they believed the merchandise was stolen, the police said Kanye has not yet filed a police complaint, so they were unable to take anything. But the pop-up was taken down not long after it launched.
Yiannopoulos claims that Yeezy has accused the people behind Friday’s sale of fabricating documents to give the impression to law enforcement that they were the rightful owners of the merchandise in a stop and desist letter. Additionally, Ye’s right-hand man said that his squad had located one of the suspected thieves and that he intended to provide any information to the police.
The brand is involved in other disputes than this one. Kanye retaliated against Adidas last week, saying the company was attempting to “destrоy” him. He has said in the past that the CEO of the business contacted him and told him they “were just gonna bur𝚗 the product”.
