After nearly seven years of marriage, Kim Kardashian files for divorce from Kanye West. In January, sources told PEOPLE that the stars’ divorce was “inevitable.”

Kim Kardashian will not be leaving the $60 million Hidden Hills property she shared with Kanye West during their divorce.

“Kim and the kids are going to stay at the Hidden Hills house. Kim doesn’t want to move at least not right now; this is their home,” a source tells PEOPLE. Kardashian, 40, has been residing in the house with her four children, North, 7½, and Chicago, 3, and her sons, Saint, 5, and Psalm, who will turn 2 in May. West, 43, has been commuting between Los Angeles and his ranch in Wyoming.

The source went on, “Kanye is happy that Kim is staying at the family house even though she lives elsewhere.” “They both concur that it’s best for the kids to have less strеss. Kids are Kanye’s passion. He desires their happiness. He has no desire to аrgue with Kim over anything.”

The attention-grabbing house was bought by the ex-couple in 2014 for an estimated $20 million, and they completely renovated it. West worked with Belgian architect Axel Vervoordt to design a living area with a subdued color scheme, architecture that bordered on churchlike, and sparse furniture. After the family moved into the home in December 2017, Kris Jenner tweeted in 2018 that the property had increased in value to $60 million.

Regarding the smooth surfaces inside, Kardashian West told archdigest.com, “We decided we wаnted a house that didn’t need baby proofing.” With four children, she finds it challenging to maintain the cleanliness of the all-white furnishings.

“Oh my God. I throw towels about the home,” she remarked. “All you need to do is inhale deeply and accept that it will occur. We choose to use mild hues.”

The mansion sits on 3.5 acres with a swimming pool outside, in a gated enclave that is popular with celebrities.

In 2017, the couple sold their former home for $18 million. It was a Bel Air mansion that they had restored for several years but never lived in.

Following a turbulent time for the couple, who looked to be headed for divorce last summer before getting back together and spending quality time with their kids in sеcrеt, news of Kardashian and West’s split broke.

Then, in January, several sources told PEOPLE that Kardashian was about to file for divorce from West and had been consulting with well-known divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.

“They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family,” according to a source. “And Kim is okay with it.”

In February, Kardashian filed for divorce formally.
