Lil Wayne, Pharrell and Coi Leray voice characters in Doodles’ NFT animation thanks to their distinctive voices

Doodles, an Ethereum non-fungible token (NFT) collection series, announced Thursday that it will release an animated movie with music in summer 2024. The project announced that the soundtrack will include three videos and voiceovers from Pharrell Williams, Dwayne ‘Lil Wayne’ Carter, and Coi Leray.

Doodles announced its summer film, “Dullsville and the Doodleverse,” in an X post on Apr. 4. Declaring it “A groundbreaking storytelling experience from Doodles [and] Pharrell Williams,” the announcement came Thursday. In addition to Pharrell Williams, the project will feature American rapper and singer Coi Leray and Lil Wayne.

In the film, Coi Leray plays “Deysi,” while Lil Wayne plays “Captain Stoke,” Doodles noted. The X article stated that Dullsville and the Doodleverse will combine Doodles’ recognizable style with a cinematic approach, creating a new animation format. and certainly, OGs are central.”

Doodles promised “exclusive merchandise and digital collecting opportunities.” According to cryptoslam.io, Doodles NFT sales rose 318% on Thursday after the announcement. The Doodle NFT collection has sold $648.49 million in secondary NFTs since its launch.

Doodles indicated a global release after the movie’s debut, verified Thursday. The team continued, “This campaign, dubbed ‘Project Gray’ will begin early summer and culminate in an immersive premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by a global release.” Lil Wayne, known as ‘Weezy,’ reposted the Doodles’ X message, stating: “Captain Stoke • ᴗ •”
