Just a week after calling Radiohead fans ‘weird, malnourished and sad’, Fox News says Radiohead is just ‘the poor man’s Coldplay’

After saying Radiohead fans are “strange, malnourished, and sad” a few days ago, Fox News’ Katherine Timpf compared the band to Coldplay.

Katherine Timpf gave a controversial assessment of the renowned alt-rock heroes and their Rock And Roll Hall of Fаme nomination on Fox News’ The Greg Gutfeld Show last week.“Seeing as it’s about fаme and not talent, I think Radiohead will get in, and should get in,” she said.

“I don’t even like them, but the kind of guys I like are strange, malnourished, and sad,” she said. “Those guys always like Radiohead, so I’ve had to pretend to like them for years to get these me𝚗, even though the music is just elaborate moaning and whining for ring tone sounds.”

After the reaction, Timpf went on The Greg Gutfeld Show, where presenter Greg Gutfeld referenced her statements, according to NME.

Gutfeld gave Timpf his Halloween costume opinion. “I have a new costume everyone should wear: depressed, malnourished, and sad. You’d be a Radiohead fan.”

Timpf explained that her words had turned off the “strange, malnourished, and sad” guys she used to date. “I wish I would have joked about something less serious like religion or wаr,” she said. Could have been less divisive.”

Greg Gutfeld concluded with his opinion. He said, “You know, Radiohead is a fine band but they stole everything from Coldplay,” prompting Katherine Timpf to call them “another bunch of sad people.”

Fans of both Radiohead and Coldplay have long joked that Coldplay copied Radiohead’s music, influencing their sound.

Coldplay said during a 2008 concert that their song ‘God Put A Smile Upon Your Face’ sounded like Radiohead’s ‘2+2=5’ (despite the songs being released too close to be other). This came after the band was accused of plagiarizing Joe Satriani’s ‘If I Could Fly’ in writing ‘Viva La Vida’.

Chris Martin of Coldplay joked in Rolling Stone about their Radiohead influence. “Sometimes I feel like they cleared a path with a machete and we built a strip mall,” he remarked. “I would still give my left ball to write anything as good as OK Computer.”
