Because he was so engrossed in work, Lil Wayne forgot that his children also need their father’s love: ‘Dad, can you take a day to play with me?’

Lil Wayne genuinely wants to support his sons.

The rapper, 40, received a call from his 13-year-old son Kameron on Thursday as he was starting his appearance on Matt Barnes’ “All the Smoke” podcast.

He bids Kameron “goodnight, boy, I love you,” then inquires, “Where boss man? Is he sleeping?”

As Kameron affirms he is asleep, Wayne makes reference to his younger brother, 6-year-old Kross, whom Kameron’s mother, Lauren London, shared with her late partner, Nipsey Hussle. “They got a picture of his daddy on the wall looking just like him,” Wayne relates. “Love you, I’ll take a picture and send it to you to show him.”

The “A Milli” rapper discussed taking fatherhood seriously in another section of the interview, having grown up without a father of his own. Apart from Kameron, he is also the father of three children: Dwayne Carter III, 14, with Sarah Vivan, daughter Reginae Carter, 24, with ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Johnson, and son Neal, 13, with singer Nivea.

It’s crucial. Regarding his time with his children, he remarks, “That’s life.” How food is essential to life. It’s difficult to do something you didn’t have done for you and try to figure it out because I didn’t have one of those or a father.”

Wayne goes on, “You don’t ask when you’re in my situation. Now that I’ve figured it out, it’s no longer a challenge for me at this age. It was difficult in the past. All the difficulties are eliminated by their love.”
