British actor Damson Idris, 29, may not yet be a household name in Hollywood, but his impressive career has enabled him to purchase a recently renovated home in an upscale neighborhood above L.A.’s Studio City for $3.85 million.
Although Idris has appeared in underappreciated films like the 2018 coming-of-age drama “Farming” and the poorly received Netflix sci-fi action film “Outside the Wire,” it is his prominent role as a young drug dealer in the FX crime drama “Snowfall” that has propelled his rise in the industry. Idris is also credited as a producer for the upcoming fifth season of “Snowfall,” set to debut next year.
The two-story residence, built in 1964 and recently updated, boasts five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Marketed as a “stunning Montecito modern residence,” it features pale European oak flooring, high-end finishes, and a sophisticated home automation system for lighting, sound, and security.
Spanning just over 4,700 square feet, the home has an open floor plan with a central entry flanked by formal living and dining rooms. The dining room connects through an oversized butler’s pantry to a stylish eat-in kitchen with white marble countertops, bold black veining, and gold fixtures on white Shaker-style cabinetry.
The adjoining family room opens to the rear through a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Two guest bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, while the other two share a spacious Jack-and-Jill bath. The master bedroom features a serene mountain view, a walk-in closet, and a luxurious bathroom.
The backyard, while not large, offers privacy and easy maintenance. It is designed with concrete terracing, a built-in grill and benches, a patch of evergreen Astroturf, and a trapezoidal plunge pool and spa, all set into a custom-planted slope behind the house.
