Last summer, Grammy-nominated rapper Rick Ross made waves when he purchased a $35 million waterfront estate on Star Island in Miami Gardens. Now, with an additional $20 million earmarked for renovations, Ross plans to transform the property into a $100 million megamansion that will rival the luxurious homes of Miami’s elite, including billionaires like Ken Griffin and Jeff Bezos.
The expansion, adding 4,000 square feet to the estate, promises unparalleled luxury. “We’re excited to extend the house toward the ocean,” Ross shared with The Post. “We’re even planning a rare Koi fish pond from Japan, possibly featuring a Basquiat painting for the walls.”
The 12,400-square-foot mansion at 37 Star Island Drive first caught Ross’s eye a year ago. After securing approval from the Star Island homeowners association in mid-July, he eagerly announced the purchase on social media.

Ross’s A-list neighbors are just as thrilled. Fellow resident Sean “Diddy” Combs gifted Ross a golf cart to help him navigate the island’s exclusive community.
To bring his vision to life, Ross has enlisted celebrity homebuilder Manny Angelo Varas, known for crafting luxury estates for high-profile clients. Varas shared with The Post, “Rick has ambitious plans to make this one of Miami’s most iconic homes. It gives us the opportunity to be creative with both design and materials.” Upon completion, Varas believes the residence will be worth $100 million, solidifying its place as one of the city’s most valuable properties.
Exclusive renovation photos show the mansion in its early stages, with plans to add a state-of-the-art recording and production studio, an expansive pool overlooking the water, and glass-adorned exteriors that will flood the home with natural light. The renderings hint at the grandeur that’s soon to come.
