Rapper Rick Ross Reveals His Private Jet—And No, It Didn’t Set Him Back $5 Billion

Rick Ross, who has shifted from a successful rapper to a prominent businessman, frequently showcases his opulent lifestyle on social media. His posts feature a range of luxury items, from custom cars and diamond jewelry to designer clothing, displayed with more flair than you’d find in a high-end boutique.

Among his impressive collection of vehicles, which includes both the latest custom designs and rare vintage models, motorcycles, and bicycles—totaling over 100 items scattered across the U.S.—Ross has been known for hosting an extravagant annual car meet at his Florida estate. This event has grown into a spectacular blend of auto show and grand party, complete with lavish prizes for car enthusiasts.

Until recently, Ross was missing only a private jet, but he has now acquired one and made sure his millions of fans knew about it. He shared videos and photos of his new custom jet on social media, calling it “a $5 billion play,” which led some to mistakenly believe he spent that much on it.

In reality, even if he had $5 billion, he wouldn’t have spent that much. The jet is a 2012 Gulfstream G550, featuring twin Rolls-Royce engines and a custom paint job by Duncan Aviation. The term “$5 billion play” actually refers to Ross’s ambition to become a billionaire. Unlike other celebrities who wrap their jets, Ross chose a fresh paint job to avoid dealing with peeling letters.

The G550 is now adorned with “RICK RO$$” in rose gold lettering on a black background, and the Maybach Music Group logo on the rear. The aircraft’s registration number, N676AS, reveals it was purchased by Maybach AIR LLC in April this year. Ross had likely been waiting for the customization to be completed before unveiling it.

In his Instagram Stories, Ross declared that “the limit is the sky” and invited his followers to join him as he reaches “new heights” in his global travels—presumably not in the literal sense.
