Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., is listing his empty estate in Wildwood, Missouri, for just $600,000. The rapper originally bought the property in 2002 with plans to flip it, but both the project and the house have since been left abandoned.
According to TMZ, Nelly, who hails from the St. Louis area, intended to renovate the home with a contractor friend. However, those renovations never got started, leaving the property in disrepair for many years.
The “Ride with Me” artist is now looking to cut his losses and move on from the investment. The home was officially listed for sale.
Before Nelly purchased it, the estate had been on the market for a hefty $2,499,000, though it’s unclear how much he paid for it at the time.
Built in 1998, the home is about 30 miles from St. Louis and just minutes from the Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Eureka.
The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion spans 10,799 square feet and sits on a 12-acre lot. The property includes a private basketball court, a three-car garage, scenic views of the Meramec River basin, and plenty of space for recreation.
