The actor, entrepreneur, and former wrestler purchased a house in Encino, California, for $3.48 million as a surprise gift for his mother, Ata. With an estimated net worth of around $270 million, he has previously bought her two homes in Florida, but he noted that this one is special. On Instagram, Johnson, 50, expressed, “As a child, I hated seeing my mom cry, and now I embrace her tears of joy. I bought my mom a new house as a surprise.” He shared that his design team and he spent eight weeks preparing the home, ensuring that everything would be new and surprising when she first entered.
He added, “I’ve been fortunate enough to buy her several homes over the years, but this one is significant because she has repeatedly expressed her desire for it to be her last home after a lifetime of travel. Making you happy is my greatest dream, Mom. Welcome home.”
Records obtained by The Post reveal that Johnson acquired the Cape Cod-style residence, featuring six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, in September. However, his mother only moved in recently.
This gated property spans over 4,400 square feet and boasts high-end amenities, including a great room with French doors, a chef’s kitchen equipped with navy cabinets, a handmade tile backsplash, and Carrera marble countertops, as well as a living room that features a fireplace and white vaulted ceilings.
The kitchen also includes a breakfast nook.
