Kevin Hart’s home and professional life are both thriving.
When he’s not promoting comedy shows or starring in blockbuster films, the Ride Along actor enjoys quality time at home with his wife and young children. His eldest kids, Heaven Hart, and Hendrix Hart, are from his previous marriage to Torrei Hart. After their divorce in 2011, Hart married his current wife, Eniko Hart, with whom he has two more children: Kenzo, and Kaori Mai.
Although managing a household full of children and pets can sometimes be overwhelming, the comedian wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“We both love being parents and are fully committed to our little ones,” he shared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “We have two toddlers and teenagers—it’s the perfect mix of ages.” He added, “It’s exactly what you’d expect and so much more.”
“I’ve never been home for this many weeks—let alone weeks at all—because of my job,” he told PEOPLE in January 2021. “I’ve never had the chance to spend so much time with my family or have deeper conversations with them like I have during this pandemic.”
He went on to say that the experience opened his eyes to “certain aspects I had overlooked and things I didn’t appreciate as much as I should have.”
Another pivotal moment for him came after his car accident in 2019, which left him with serious back injuries and required a long recovery. In a later interview with Men’s Health, Hart shared that the incident made him prioritize spending time with his children more than ever.
“To be honest, I wasn’t doing much before,” he confessed to the magazine. “Now, I’m engaged in many small yet meaningful activities. I spend time with the kids before and after dinner, we cook Chinese food on Sundays, have Taco Tuesdays, and enjoy Mexican meals on Thursdays. We also have movie nights twice a week. Right now, I’m taking care of my dog.”
Heaven Hart
On March 22, 2005, Hart welcomed his first child with ex-wife Torrei.
Although Hart has prohibited her from pursuing comedy until she turns 18, Heaven is eager to follow in her father’s footsteps and develop her own sense of humor.
In 2016, Hart remarked, “My daughter wants to be an entertainer so badly that I’m just holding her back until she’s eighteen. As her father, I’ve decided to wait until she’s of age so we can chase any dream together.”
While she waits for her chance, Heaven practices her comedy routines on her dad. “Every day, my daughter [Heaven] makes me laugh because she thinks I’m really cool,” Hart said. “She texts me, calling me ‘Old raggedy back Jack’ and ‘G’ because of my back issues. That always makes me feel a bit lazy,” he shared with PEOPLE in August 2022.
Heaven passed her driving test in 2021 after taking a few lessons from her father, and Hart celebrated the milestone on Instagram. He posted a selfie of his daughter behind the wheel, writing, “My little girl is growing up.” For her sixteenth birthday, the comedian gifted her a Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV instead of a traditional present.
In February 2022, Hart shared with Ellen DeGeneres that Heaven planned to attend college out of state. “I’ve been trying to persuade her to consider moving to Los Angeles because of the better schools here,” he joked. “But she’s leaning towards New York City.”
“I love that she’s growing up; she’s my heart and my best friend,” he continued, noting that it’s also a bit emotional. “I can see that her leaving home is on the horizon, and that bothers me.”
Their father-daughter bond also involves holding each other accountable. In a Father’s Day episode of Red Table Talk, Hart discussed his father’s response to his infidelity scandal, admitting that his daughter was “surpassing” him in maturity.
Hendrix Hart
Hendrix Hart, the first child of Hart and Torrei, was born on November 8, 2007. Over time, he developed a keen interest in the Jumanji actor’s famous catchphrases.
Hart viewed his then-8-year-old son as his “best friend” and even chose him to be his best man at his wedding to Eniko in 2016.
For Hendrix’s birthday in 2021, Hart treated him to a ticket for a Los Angeles Lakers game, where the young boy received incredible gifts from NBA stars afterward. These included sneakers signed by Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, as well as a jersey donated by Anthony Davis.
The comedian also expressed his pride when congratulating Hendrix on graduating from eighth grade.
“The flyest/coolest kid I know… I’m so proud of you, son,” he wrote alongside a photo of Hendrix in a suit against a backdrop of balloons. “Congrats on conquering this stage of life… so many more stages to go… at this rate, you’re set to tackle them all. Love you, champ… you make your father proud every day!”
Kenzo Kash Hart
On November 21, 2017, Hart and Eniko celebrated the arrival of their first child together, Kenzo Kash Hart. The proud father announced the news on Twitter, saying, “God is truly amazing… Kenzo Kash Hart was born at 1:45 a.m. He is healthy and already smiling. Thank you all for your prayers!!!! We love and appreciate you, #Harts.”
In 2020, Hart celebrated Kenzo’s third birthday with an Instagram photoshoot that highlighted some of his son’s many nicknames.
“Happy Birthday to the coolest three-year-old on the planet,” Hart wrote. “Your parents love you to the moon and back, Zo Bear AKA ‘Pretty Boy King, Hot Feet, Heavy Head, Pitter Patter, Prince Zo, or Little Burger King,’ because you always get your way.”
The Philadelphia native has passed on his love for the Philadelphia Eagles to his children, especially Kenzo. On January 29, 2023, Kenzo joined his father and older siblings, Heaven and Hendrix, at the Eagles’ playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers, which secured the team a spot in the 2023 Super Bowl.
Hart shared their experience on Instagram, showing Kenzo beaming in a Reggie White jersey from their seats. After the Eagles lost the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs days later, Hart posted a video of himself FaceTiming a disappointed Kenzo. When Kenzo expressed, “But I’m still a little bit sad,” Hart replied, “Daddy is sad too, but you know what, Zo? We are Eagles fans. We will always be loyal Eagles fans until the end.”
Mai Kaori Hart
Hart and Eniko welcomed their daughter, Kaori Mai Hart, on September 29, 2020. Eniko announced the joyful news on social media, describing her newborn as “a tiny bit of heaven sent to earth.”
In an interview with Extra, Hart reflected on the arrival of his fifth child, expressing his desire to “not be the jaded dad.”
“This is baby number four. Do I cry during the delivery? No. After seeing it, you know the drill,” he joked. “I’m taking the stiffness out of the doctor’s hands; just give it to me, and I’ll clamp the umbilical cord.” He added, “I got her and placed her under the heat lamp. When you come home and see everyone together, it really hits you… When you look around and think, ‘Wow, our family is now six!’ And if you count the dogs, that makes eight. My main focus is on building and leaving a lasting legacy for my family, whether I’m here or not.”
The Harts celebrated Kaori’s first birthday with a pink-themed party, showing that their youngest is already showing signs of her father’s influence.
